What is Ghoul Stars or Ghoul BSD?

Ghoul Stars or Ghoul BSD is a mod version of Brawl Stars in which some of the brawlers’ default models are replaced with the characters from Tokyo Ghoul and Dota 2 game, such as Ken Kaneki, Kamishiro Rize, Jason, Shadow Field, Juggernaut, etc. To match their characters, all their pins are also customized. The lobby has given a new look with the blue sky (Kaneki’s inner world) and the music is set to the piano version of the Unravel theme. The BSD MOD menu is also added to the game, providing access to all BSD features like theme customization, 20+ battle servers, hiding Super targeting indicator, showing enemy ammo status, etc.

All these mod features are client-sided, so they only appear visually on the user’s phone. The benefit of client-sided mods is that servers won’t be aware of these features and users can safely play them on the official servers. As it runs on the official servers, Supercell ID support is also available. They can log in with their SC ID and load their main account in the Ghoul Stars to carry on their progress. As for the updates, developers release updates a few days after Brawl Stars updates, and we update here as soon as they are released.

Features of Ghoul Stars

Anyone can imagine what the features will be in the Ghoul Stars. But if you are curious about the details of the features, read the following subsections.

Tokyo Ghoul Characters

As the name suggests, Ghoul Stars has characters from the popular anime Tokyo Ghoul. Given the popularity of Tokyo Ghoul, so many fans requested a mod where all brawlers are ghoul characters. To fulfill their requests, creators created this mod and added the main characters from Tokyo Ghoul.

Edgar as Ken Kaneki - Edgar as Kaneki looks so cool with the black mask on and tentacles on his back. Instead of his scarf, he uses the tentacles to hit the enemies.

Gus as Juuzou Suzuya - Juuzou is a killer character in the anime, but in Ghoul Stars, he looks so cute with the white shirt and his iconic XIII ribbons on his hair.

Colette as Kirishima Touka - We have Kaneki in the game, then how can we forget her wife? Kirishima Touka has also added to Colette's skillset.

Piper as Kamishiro Rize - The Binge Eater, the reason Kaneki became a ghoul. She is the latest addition to the game.

Pam as Big Madam - Pam is the perfect brawler to play the Big Madam role given her physique. As Big Madam, she has her iconic tinted sunglasses, expensive jewelry & hat on.

Frank as Jason - Frank is playing as Jason of the 13th Ward or Oomori Yakumo. With his white mask, white suit, white tie, and dark-muted red shirt on, and also his wide upper body suits perfectly to play Frank in Brawl Stars, who can defeat his opponents with raw power.

Dota 2 Characters

Ghoul Stars didn't stop just at the Tokyo Ghould, but it went and introduced Dota 2 characters too in the game. There are many similarities between Brawlers and Dota 2 heroes' abilities and Super. Only their names and visuals are different, but the work & effects are the same. It gives us the perfect chance to replace the brawlers with Dota 2's heroes. Currently, Crow, Carl, and Gene are used as Dota heroes. Read the following paragraphs to know why.

Carl as Juggernaut - Juggernaut, during his first ability Blade Fury, spins & creates a blade storm of destructive force around him, damaging all nearby enemies. Carl, too, spins with his hammer during his Super, giving the same effect. With that similarity, Carl's model is replaced with Juggernaut.

Gene as Pudge - Pudge's first ability is named Meat Hook. On using it, he launches a bloody hook toward the opponent and drags it back to himself. Gene's Super is also similar in that he sends a magical hand from his lamp and pulls the enemy back to his location. That's why he is given the Pudge character from Dota 2.

Crow as Shadow Fiend - Shadow Fiend's ultimate ability Requiem of Souls releases the captured souls around him, damaging the enemies and debuffing them. Our Crow has a similar Super, right? He takes off in the air and lands, throwing poisoned daggers both times, which deal damage over time to the hit enemies. Therefore, we have given him Dota 2's Shadow Fiend.

BSD Features

BSD Brawl has collaborated with the Ghoul Stars to give more features to the Brawl players. All those popular BSD features like showing opponents' ammo status, hiding our Super targeting, customization for themes & background music, camera options, etc. are now accessible in the Ghoul Stars too. We can also change the servers, adjust the FPS, and test the ping, and much more.

Custom Pins, Animations & Voicelines

Wouldn't it be weird if we use the pins and it shows Crow pins while the character is Shadow Fiend? Or if it shows Edgar pins while our character is One-Eyed Ghoul - Ken Kaneki? So, the pins are also customized to match their ghouls & Dota heroes. Likewise, new animations and voice lines are added based on their characters. Nothing will feel out of place with the matching characters, pins, animations, and voice lines.

Unravel Lobby Music

Unravel is the most iconic anime opening theme. Anyone who has watched Tokyo Ghoul can instantly recognize its Unravel from Tokyo Ghoul only by listening to it for a few seconds. Even among non-watchers, it's a popular song. It's a no-brainer to use this theme in the Ghoul Stars. Its piano instrumental version is used in the lobby. It's soothing and perfectly sets the atmosphere for the game. Even when you are not playing any matches, and are just browsing the brawlers list, chatting in the clan, or customizing your profile, the gentle piano plays the Unravel and it makes the Tokyo Ghoul experience more complete.

Kaneki's Glassy Sky as Lobby Background

When captured and tortured by Jason/Oomori. Kaneki entered a psychological space, a space that exists within his mind. A vast, clear, serene blue sky, where he was alone with his thoughts. That was the turning point for Kaneki. That blue sky space holds a powerful resonance for Tokyo Ghoul fans too. Because we understand how deeply this space resonates with us fans, we have added Kaneki's inner mind space as the lobby background with the Unravel playing in the background. Both together create the perfect combination.
